Meet in my defence, a barrier-building ceramide moisturiser that DEFENDS your skin barrier with its patented 5-ceramide blend. It’s the first-of-its-kind ceramide cream in the market that uses 1% pure ceramides (20X higher than industry standard) along with your skin’s other essential lipids (cholesterol and fatty acids) in the optimal ratio of 3:1:1. This recommended ratio is the proportion in which the lipids are naturally present in your skin, thus mimicking the structure of your natural skin barrier. This ratio in IMD helps accelerate barrier repair, and the cream fortifies your skin barrier from within, making it stronger, more resilient and better equipped to protect itself on its own.

Formulated with 5 Ceramides, Fatty Acids and Cholesterol (skin’s 3 main barrier lipids), IMD seeps into your skin barrier and replenishes the lipid matrix in the top layer of your skin so your skin cells stay tight, defending itself against moisture loss and external irritants.

0.3% Fatty Acids
IMD contains a combination of 4 fatty acids (Stearic Acid, Arachidic Acid Palmitic Acid and Oleic Acid) that help restore the skin’s natural barrier function, inhibit inflammation and promote wound-healing.

1% Pure Ceramides 
IMD contains a patented blend of 5 ceramides (ceramides NP, NS, AS, AP and EOP) that help reinforce the skin barrier, prevent water loss & protect against environmental stressors — giving you plumper, firmer-feeling skin with fewer visible lines & wrinkles.

0.3% Cholesterol 
An emollient and water-binding agent, it strengthens the skin barrier and plays a replenishing role to support the moisture balance and lipid composition for healthier skin.

Moisturising & hydrating
1% Acai Berry Sterols
A rare molecule and antioxidant, it is excellent at increasing hydration in the skin, preventing water loss and enhancing the barrier function.

Phytosphingosine
A precursor of ceramides, phytosphingosine is one of the key players in maintaining the health and function of the skin barrier.

Panthenol 
A precursor to Vitamin B, it stabilises the skin’s barrier function, reduces itching, redness and irritation and suppresses inflammation.

Allantoin
A popular calming agent with wound-healing and moisturising properties, it acts as an emollient that prevents water loss and keeps the skin looking plump and youthful.

Soothing & calming 
40% Purslane Extract
Known as the ‘fountain of youth’, it activates an enzyme which controls cellular ageing. It reduces wrinkles and scars, calms irritated skin, reduces redness and has a very cooling effect on the skin.

0.5% Bisbolol 
Derived from chamomile, it soothes skin irritation and inflammation and helps with skin brightening.

Usage

IMD can be seamlessly incorporated into your skincare routine as it pairs beautifully with every active ingredient.

Use it as the last step in your skincare routine (before sunscreen) to seal all your skincare actives and strengthen the skin barrier.

If you have a damaged barrier we recommend using IMD as a standalone product until you heal and repair your barrier, before including actives in your skincare routine again.
